Mountain House® Cottage Cheese is freeze dried and packed for long-term storage, so you can enjoy this easily prepared dairy product now or years from now. A tasty addition to emergency food storage. Re-hydrates quickly and retains much of its original shape, flavor, and texture. Great as a snack or combined with fruit, vegetables, crackers or spices. Can be used in place of ricotta cheese in lasagna and other Italian dishes. An excellent source of protein – 16 grams per serving! Each # 10 can makes approximately 20 ½ cup servings. Ingredients: Cultured Skim Milk, Cream, Milk, Salt, Whey, Guar Gum, Citric Acid, Carrageenan, and Locust Bean Gum Directions: 1) Add 1/2 cup dry cottage cheese to 1/3 cup water room temperature (about 70°F).
2) Stir gently to moisten all particles.
3) Let stand 5 minutes, then toss gently. Chill before serving (3-4 hours).
4) If needed add more water, a teaspoon at a time, until desired consistency is achieved.
