Bread Mix 2 1/3 cups
Warm water 1 1/4 cups
Cider Vinegar 1/2 tsp
Instant Yeast 1 1/2 tsp
1. Blend dry mix and instant dry yeast in mixing bowl.
2. Add vinegar and warm water (110 – 120°F).
3. Mix thoroughly for 2 minutes.
4. If dough appears too dry and crumbly, add warm water 1 Tbsp at a time, mixing well after each addition until dough is smooth and thoroughly
moistened.
5. If making more than one loaf, split dough into loaves.
6. Let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour or until doubled in size.
7. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.
8. Immediately remove from pan. Note: For softer crust place in bread bag once cooled.
For altitudes above 4500’ add 1 Tbsp of fine white rice flour per cup of French bread mix as recipe requires.
INGREDIENTS
Fine white rice flour, tapioca flour/starch, soybean oil, sugar, whole eggs (whole eggs, sodium silicoaluminate [as an anticaking agent]), xanthan gum, salt, modified food starch, lecithin powder (soy flour, liquid lecithin, dolomite). ALLERGENS Contains allergens: Eggs and soy. Processed in a dedicated gluten free manufacturing and packaging site. SHELF LIFE Best when stored in a cool dry place at temperatures between 55° and 70° F (ideal humidity 15%). RECIPES Gluten Free Pizza Dough
2 1/3 cups Augason Farms GF French Bread Mix
1 1/2 tablespoons instant yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
1/2 teaspoon cider vinegar
Blend bread mix and instant dry yeast in mixing bowl. Add vinegar, and warm water (110 – 120°F). Mix thoroughly for 2 minutes. Make sure dough is smooth and thoroughly moistened, it will be sticky. Place onto lightly greased 14” pizza pan and spread dough evenly to edges of pan. Cover with plastic wrap. Let rise 15–20 minutes. Bake at 400˚F for 10 minutes. While still warm cover with favorite toppings and bake for 15–20
minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Gluten Free French Toast
2 1/3 cups Augason Farms GF French Bread Mix
1 teaspoon instant yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
1/2 teaspoon cider vinegar
Egg batter:
4 beaten eggs
1/2 – 3/4 cup milk or substitute
1 teaspoon sugar or honey
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Canola oil for frying
1 tablespoon GF powdered sugar for dusting
French Toast: Blend dry bread mix and instant dry yeast in mixing bowl. Add vinegar, and warm water (110°F-120°F). Mix thoroughly for 2 minutes. Make sure dough is smooth and thoroughly moistened, it will be sticky. Place in loaf pan. For a smooth top, use a wet spatula. Cover with towel and let rise 45 minutes to 1 hour. Bake at 375˚F for 30 minutes. Immediately remove from pan. For softer crust, place in bread bag once cooled. Egg batter: Combine eggs, milk or substitute, sugar, salt and vanilla in a shallow bowl and whisk until thoroughly blended. Dip slices of GF French Bread in egg mixture. Allow both sides of bread to soak up as much egg mixture as it will hold. Heat oil on medium high in a large, heavy skillet and fry coated bread slices. When golden brown, flip and cook second side until golden brown. Serve with butter and a dusting of powdered sugar.
