Honeyville Freeze Dried Peas are produced in a process where moisture is removed from the product using a very low temperature and a vacuum. Only about 3 percent moisture remains in the product at the time of packaging. The end product weight is reduced by over 90 percent, while the volume stays the same. This remarkable process concentrates the fresh taste, natural color, and texture of peas.

When rehydrated, the product will absorb the liquid and resemble fresh peas once again. The taste is great, and the nutritional value is preserved. Freeze drying provides natural and additive free vegetables to be stored effectively for long periods of time. Honeyville Freeze Dried Peas are an ideal product to have in any long term food storage pantry.

Shelf-Life:  Freeze Dried Peas will store for 10 to 15 years in a sealed #10 can (oxygen absorber included) under ideal storage conditions (cool, dry place). Once opened, it has an average shelf life of 12 to 18 months.

Instructions:  Add 3 parts water to 1 part green pea. Allow Freeze Dried Peas to hydrate for about 20 minutes or until fully rehydrated. Honeyville's Freeze Dried Peas can replace fresh prepared green peas at a rate of 5 to 1. That means that each can of Freeze Dried Peas is the equivalent of about 6 pounds of fresh green peas.

Uses:  Freeze Dried Peas can be used separately or in combination with casseroles, soups, pastas and more.

Packaging:  Freeze Dried Peas are sealed air tight in a #10 can and weighs approximately 1.25 pounds. A case contains 6 #10 cans and weighs 7.5 pounds. Each can contains 43 servings. One serving size is ¼ cup. Once rehydrated, a serving size comes out to about 2/3 cup.
